South Bend Elkhart, IN, November 1, 2026 — Following a decisive 42-7 road defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen has announced a plan for thorough team assessment. Steichen indicated that the coaching staff intends to “evaluate everything, every position” in the aftermath of the significant loss.

This statement from the head coach comes at a critical juncture for the Colts. The team has now experienced a streak of four consecutive losses. This recent downturn in performance follows a period where the organization made notable personnel changes, including the trade of veteran Pro Bowl players. These moves, coupled with the current losing streak, suggest a potential rebuilding phase for the team.

The game against the Jaguars saw the Colts unable to gain traction, resulting in a substantial margin of defeat on the road. The commitment to evaluating all aspects of the team, from individual player performance to broader positional strategies, signals a move toward addressing the team’s current challenges. The specific outcomes of these evaluations and any resulting strategic shifts were not detailed by Coach Steichen. The timeline for this comprehensive review also remains unspecified. The impact of these evaluations on future roster decisions and game-day strategies is yet to be determined.

The Indianapolis Colts organization has not provided further details regarding the scope or timeline of this planned evaluation process. The focus remains on assessing the current state of the team following a series of challenging results and personnel decisions.
