Each Cubs save and triple this season triggered a donation, which will provide over $40,000 worth of groceries for families in 13 northern Illinois counties.
GREEN OAKS, IL, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Every time Cubs Radio called a save or a triple this season, it carried a second meaning for families across northern Illinois. As part of its 2026 partnership with Audacy and Cubs Radio, NorthShore Adult Diapers® donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank for each one. By season’s end, these moments added up to $6,200. According to the Food Bank, every $1 donated helps provide $7 worth of groceries, putting the season’s total at over $40,000 worth of groceries for neighbors in need.
NorthShore and Audacy presented the donation to Northern Illinois Food Bank® at NorthShore’s Green Oaks headquarters on Tuesday, October 13.
“In our line of work, we know a thing or two about saves,” said Adam J. Greenberg, Founder and CEO of NorthShore. “This was a fun and meaningful way to partner with two great organizations and give back. The Cubs did the hitting and the closing this season, and Northern Illinois Food Bank shows up every single day to make sure people across the region have enough to eat.”
“Partnerships like this turn moments fans already love into real support for our neighbors,” said Colleen Ahearn, Chief Philanthropy Officer of Northern Illinois Food Bank. “We’re grateful to NorthShore Adult Diapers, Audacy, and Cubs Radio for making every save and every triple count this season. This donation will help put food on tables for families across northern Illinois.”
Hunger and incontinence affect far more people than most realize, and both carry a stigma that can keep people from asking for help. Northern Illinois Food Bank works to make sure neighbors can get the food they need without judgment. NorthShore first partnered with Cubs Radio on a similar idea: hearing the words “adult diapers” spoken naturally, by a trusted voice, in the middle of an ordinary ballgame, helps break the silence that keeps millions of people managing incontinence quietly and alone. That silence has real costs. Studies show it can take six to eight years for someone to talk to a healthcare provider about incontinence, and many never do. Most store-brand products are built for light bladder leaks, the drips and dribbles of a cough or a laugh. Yet in a recent PDG Insights survey of incontinence product buyers, 74% reported symptoms that go well beyond that, and 73% said they aren’t fully confident their current product won’t leak. Without the words to describe what they’re dealing with, it’s hard for people to know they need something different, let alone ask for it.
Cubs Radio is one part of a broader effort to spread awareness and make incontinence easier to talk about. So far in 2026, NorthShore has sponsored radio broadcasts for five other professional baseball teams, put ADULT DIAPERS on billboards across the country, and launched its first national TV commercial, “The Golden Age of Thin.” The strategy across all of it is the same: the more often people see and hear the words “adult diapers,” the easier it becomes for someone to recognize their own situation, seek the help they need, and ultimately live with the freedom and dignity they deserve.
For anyone managing incontinence, or caring for someone who is, support is easy to find at northshore.com, with adult diapers, incontinence supplies, sizing guidance, and NorthShore Care Experts available seven days a week.
